Students and teachers from each program undertake a community project working alongside locals to achieve a community-based goal. 

 

Students and teachers:

• painted the recycling center, community center and bus stop 

• built concrete paths, wooden fences and lab walls

• installed plantings/trees in gardens, the butterfly enclosure, sustainable forests and parks

• weeded gardens, paths and parks

• extracted ginger essential oils

Seeds of Change Research has worked with one group of women in particular to develop a “mariposario” butterfly garden exhibit and small research lab for butterfly propagation.  Students often work alongside these women to help!
