Registration Process
2027 Tropical Field Research (10 days in Costa Rica - all inclusive - $4,750)

Only Parents/Guardians may register participants using the online SOC Research portal (see blue button above).

There are opportunities for individuals (not part of an existing school/club group) to participate in select sessions. Contact us at info@SOCresearch.org with your inquiry.

Pay schedule: Families pay a $200 non-refundable registration fee and can pay the balance or pay monthly with the final payment due by April 1, 2027.

All participants should obtain 3rd-party program travel insurance. Refunds for non-refundable payments are only available through 3rd-party insurance that must be purchased close to registration date to meet the requirements of most insurers.
2027 Bioinformatics Research (10 days in Costa Rica - all inclusive - $4,750)

There are opportunities for individual students to join this year's 2027 bioinformatics program.

This program is open to all Tropical Field Research Program alums and other individuals who have already taken biology and can demonstrate readiness for this program.

2027 Spring Break (7 days in Costa Rica - all inclusive - $3,800)

SOC offers shorter Spring Break Tropical Field Research or Bioinformatics programs. The difference between the Spring break programs and Summer programs is that the Summer programs finish with 2 extra days at the beach. They can focus on Tropical Field Research or Bioinformatics. Students on these programs will spend all their time at the SOC Tropical Studies Research Center.
